Students and Parents

As we continue to hope for a return to a "Normal" school environment we would like everyone to consider getting vaccinated:   The County has extended an invitation to all students ages 16+ to get the vaccine.  Many of you have taken this offer and have already had your first dose, for those who have not there is still a chance; please see the invitation below.

Dear NUSD Parents/Students,

VACCINE INFORMATION:

Mariposa Community Health Center has received their first shipment of Pfizer vaccine and plan to vaccinate 16 and 17 year olds on Saturday, April 24th and Monday, April 26th.  These vaccinations will occur at the City of Nogales Recreation Center, 1500 North Hohokam Drive, Nogales, AZ.  There are two ways you can register/schedule your child for a Pfizer vaccine.  If you have access to a computer, please register your child here: Pfizer Vaccine Pre-registration .  Once your child is registered, you will receive a call from the County to schedule an appointment.  Or to schedule an appointment directly, please call 520-375-7626 Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm and our call center will be able to schedule your child’s appointment.

Some key items to be aware of when you come to the Recreation Center for your child’s appointment:

  • A legal guardian of the child being vaccinated MUST be present with the child at the time of vaccination,
  • The attached consent form must be signed by the child’s legal guardian prior to vaccination.  If you do not have access to a printer, you can complete the consent form at the time of your child’s appointment,
  • Space inside the recreation center and parking are limited so please limit your vehicles to one per family and one legal guardian per child at the appointment,
  • Your child needs to bring a picture identification that shows his/her date of birth, and
  • Parents/legal guardians, please bring your proof of insurance card that covers the child being vaccinated with you to the appointment.
  • With the limited amount of Pfizer vaccines that have been received by Mariposa, we are limiting these initial appointments to 16 and 17 year old individuals as Pfizer is the only vaccine available to this age group.  The vaccine is not currently authorized for individuals younger than 16.

If you have any questions, please contact our COVID-19 hotline at 520-375-7626.
